Rabobank has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Appraiser in the Commercial and Ag Appraisal department. This person will be responsible for the following: Under administrative direction, but in accorance with Federal Regulations and established Bank policies, assists with the Commercial Appraisal function and ensures that appraisals meet Federal regulatory requirements. Confers with Senior Management, Relationship Managers, and Credit Analysts on appraisal issues. The following job duties are considered essential to this position and can be amended by supervisor as needed: Responsible for reviewing externally prepared appraisals and validating the current market value of ag, commercial, and residential properties for collateral lending purposes. Adjusts the appraised market value when appropriate. Reviews will confirm compliance with USPAP, FIRREA, OCC, and Bank guidelines. Reviews internally and externally conducted evaluations to ascertain quality of techniques and market data used. May be required to prepare internal evaluations on collateral of existing loans for renewal purposes. Assists as necessary with ordering and management of appraisals, evaluations, and appraisal reviews. Responsible for the review of environmental documents, including Phase I and II reports and third party reviews. Interprets data and makes recommendations on environmental issues. Reviews and makes recommendations on waiver requests for Phase I reports. Assists with approval of appraisers for Bank panel which includes reviewing sample appraisals and contacting references. Assists with approval of environmental consultants, cost budget reviewers, and construction inspectors. Participates in logging and maintaining accurate database records of all jobs processed by the Department. Assists in maintenance of appraisal and review job files. Assists with annual review of appraisal and environmental panels to ensure continuing competency and responsiveness of approved panel members. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor. Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in finance, real estate or related field with 5+ years of commercial real estate appraisal experience. Must have a strong knowledge of commercial real estate with experience in all property types. Application for Certified General license is currently being reviewed by the OREA. Test will be taken and passed as soon as confirmation letter is issued (estimated one month). All classes for MAI designation are completed, working on Demo Report, and scheduled to take the Comp Exam in October.
